Effectiveness of Walking Exercise

Hippocrates, a Greek doctor, considered walking a great medicine for humans. In fact, in the West, there's also this saying. "I have two doctors. It's my left leg and my right leg." So is it really that good to walk?

Some studies suggest that people who walk steadily are less likely to get sick than people who live sitting down.  The results of the study show that walking reduces the risk of heart disease or stroke. Walking increases the body's ability to use insulin and prevents sugar disease.

It prevents osteoporosis by strengthening bones. It also improves muscle strength, flexibility, and physical strength. It also helps with weight loss and weight management. It improves sleep quality, enhances mental function, and even helps fight depression.

Researchers at the University of California in the U.S. found that a 15-minute walk is more effective than a light tranquilizer to relieve anxiety and tension.Like other physical activities, walking relieves pain and promotes tension, allowing endorphins, a brain chemical that makes you feel calm and happy.

According to Canada's Medical Post, even taking a leisurely walk can be beneficial for your health. Walking briskly at a high speed can bring even greater benefits.One of the great advantages of walking is that anyone can enjoy it regardless of age or health condition and does not require training or skills. Just one shoe that fits your feet.

How everyone enjoys walking: Wear comfortable, loose clothes. To keep yourself warm, bundle up in clothes that are easy to take off.  Wear elastic and light shoes with cushions on the heel, low and non-tight toes. Shoes should be slightly larger than regular formal shoes. If you have plans to walk for more than 30 minutes, you may want to bring a bucket of water. During the first five minutes, walk slowly and warm up. Keep your elbows and knees slightly bent and your fists slightly clenched without clenching them.

When your body is warmed up, you should start walking naturally and energetically at a high speed, but your heels should touch the ground first and your toes should walk later. That's why you need stretchy shoes. Walking is enough to talk without being out of breath. If you have started walking, gradually increase your time, distance, and speed, and slow down to catch your breath when you finish walking.

Increasing heart rate and breathing rate is a normal phenomenon that occurs when you exercise, just like sweating a little bit. The muscles may hurt for the first few days. Pay attention to body reactions and slow down or take a rest if it seems too much.

Walking certainly has advantages over activities such as running or aerobics because it doesn't shock your body much.If you have heart disease, high blood pressure, or other diseases, consult your doctor first before transferring your exercise health care plan to Xingchun.

Indeed, walking exercise is the best exercise recommended by health experts. Nowadays, there are many walking paths with trees and forests around the apartment. Walking on these roads regularly is not only good for your physical but also for your mental health. Walk regularly for your health!
